About the Event
Presented by John R. Manoush of the Hawthorne Community Association, this lecture focuses on author Nathaniel Hawthorne's life in Maine and the history of his boyhood home which still stands in Raymond today. Both Hawthorne and Rufus Porter were born in Massachusetts and called the Lakes Region of Maine their home during their youth. Learn about the Hawthorne Community Association's efforts to preserve the beauty, historical significance and structural integrity of the Hawthorne House for generations to come.
