Opening Day – A New Season of Discovery

The Rufus Porter Museum of Art & Ingenuity officially opens its doors for the 2026 season on Saturday, June 6, and we are kicking things off with historic milestones.

Driven by an expanded team — including our new educator Christine Devereux, curator Jessie Burchett, and summer intern Hanna McKellar — the museum is proud to debut major new acquisitions.

Visitors will get a first look at the rare, pre-conservation Shaker Glen murals and the remarkable Adams Female Academy panels. Plus, explore a completely reinterpreted Church House and our special Semiquincentennial exhibition, Rufus Porter’s American History. Come celebrate our biggest season yet!
